First of all, no it’s not a porn flick. It’s actually a fairly interesting look at the sexual and emotional lives of four friends. They are all fairly open to sexuality, and they somehow spend an evening discussing said topic. Now, I’m not going to claim it’s all very plausible that this would happen - especially without the errant drug in the mix. Not to mention that in some cases with friends like these who needs enemies? But they do bring up some interesting topics that question how we look at our own sexuality and how we relate to others emotionally and socially.
There seems to be a representative there for everyone: two men - one gay, one straight,t and two women - one gay, one straight. Between these 4 people there are very different perspectives on sex. From one will do anything with anyone to one who won’t do anything sexual unless they are emotionally involved. Each of them feel the way they do all because of the lives they have led. They tend to start into a conversation though and then drop into taunts and eventually hate-filled, caustic mockery. Sometimes it’s right on target, others way off base. For instance one conversation about how one woman is very emotionally controlling is fair game. Then there’s the heated argument that ends with someone saying god’s wrath is AIDS - pretty off base there.
Overall, each of the four friends ends up learning something about themselves in the process of the evening. It’s unfortunate that they had to endure the crap that their friends put them through. But in the absence of more expensive therapy, I suppose it’s an option. Not a bad flick…
